Synopsis:

“Creer Cuesta” invites us to immerse ourselves in the painful and bittersweet memories that have marked the history of the Mexican national soccer team. Through very specific stories, we will explore the crucial moments that led an entire country to collapse, leaving an indelible mark on the heart of Mexico. Beyond the morbid fascination of reliving a national tragedy, this docu-series celebrates the effort and dedication of the players who have been part of the Mexican national soccer team, acknowledging their commitment and love for the team’s green colors. It is not easy to judge from our comfort and ignorance. Criticizing a bad play, a human error, a moment of distraction. We even go so far as to insult or degrade a player for something as ephemeral and fleeting as a tackle. But we forget that behind each player there is a life of sacrifices: years of preparation, discipline, expectations to fulfill, the locker room environment, refereeing criteria, coach’s trust, mental state. But above all, the fear of disappointing an entire country.
